In a hydrogen genrator, is there more hydrogen or water produced in terms of volume?
I mean hydrogen and oxygen
Chosen Answer:
i’m guessing that your talking about generating H2 form water….kinda like putting a nine volt battery into some salt water and making H2 and O2:
electrolysis of water: H2O –> H2 + 1/2 O2
now you tell me, from this equation, what do you make more of ( in moles?). Then realize that one mole of any ideal gas has the same volume (22.4 L) and you have your answer!
good luck
p.s. ignore the other guy that mentioned making water….that makes no sense.

are you sure that it’s water that gets produced, and not oxygen? If it’s oxygen, then the volume ratio is 2Hydrogen: 1Oxygen.

I believe anotherhumanmale is correct; however, mr is just trying to be funny, or sarcastic, or just plain ignorant about this technology.
